Child Placement

Residential Treatment Facility

Conners Children’s Center Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) is a 14 bed residential treatment program that serves both boys and girls ages 6-14 years with severe emotional and/or behavioral disorders. The program treats children who have been traumatized and work with each child and their family to heal wounds caused by trauma. Our staff teaches the skills needed to prepare children and families for discharge back home or to another permanent resource, or to a lower level of care. The program is licensed by the Office of Mental Health. The cost of care for the children is provided by Medicaid.

Referral Information

To refer a child to the Conners Children’s Center Residential Treatment Facility, you should contact the RTF Case Manager at the Office of Mental Health (716)885-4219 and ask for a referral packet. The completed packet must then be sent to the SPOA from the county where the child originates. They must approve this level of care. The SPOA committee will need to forward the completed referral to the RTF Case Manager at the Office of Mental Health, who will present it to the Pre-Admission Certification Committee (PACC). Following the approval for the RTF level of care by PACC, the case manager will send the packet to the appropriate RTF programs. This is determined by the age of the child, location of the family and requests of the family and referring agency. If you have any questions, please contact the RTF Director at (716)335-7308.
